A “West Coast Vibe” is an important part of Alaska’s brand, and we aim to express that identity throughout the flight experience.  When it came to putting together a West Coast menu, however, we struggled to understand what that meant -- so we went to our guests for answers.  Members of our Insights Community were led through a three-part research sequence to understand the culinary facets that trigger “West Coast,” then evolve that information into an onboard offer.  The resulting menu launched in the Main Cabin on July 16.

Our speaker:

Kelly Hight, Guest Insights Research Manager, Alaska Airlines

Kelly has been with Alaska Airlines for 2 years.  She has a masters degree in experimental psychology (with an emphasis in social psychology) from the University of Memphis.
Kelly brings 20 years of research experience, as a client and supplier in industries that include entertainment (casinos), hospitality (hotel, airline), transportation (trucking, shipping), telecommunications, and tech, specializing in customer experience and loyalty.  
She moved to Seattle from Memphis five years ago for the better weather, bringing her husband, two dogs and one cat.
