Research Associate - PRR

PRR is looking for a Research Associate for our downtown Seattle office. This position will be responsible for managing and supporting research team projects and working closely with clients to meet their research needs. This includes conducting primary research such as designing and implementing surveys, moderating focus groups, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, writing reports, and presenting findings. Having knowledge and experience with the complete research process from start to finish is ideal.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct both qualitative and qualitative research, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and digital ethnographies
  • Collaborate with research and other colleagues to provide strategic, integrated research and communications solutions
  • Conduct and help design research that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a focus on reaching historically underserved populations
  • Write reader-friendly reports, executive summaries, and other deliverables that accurately communicate research approaches, methods, results, and recommendations
  • Edit client deliverables for grammar and context
  • Help create and refine systems, templates, and processes to improve our research and data management practices
Client Relations
  • Set and maintain high quality control standards for all communications to clients and project partners
  • Establish effective working relationships with clients and project partners
  • Manage client expectations and be receptive to client feedback
  • Meet deadlines and communicate openly about challenges
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Recognize opportunities to add value
Project Management
  • Manage and support multiple projects on time and within budget
  • Track tasks appropriately to meet deadlines and delegate work efficiently
  • Maintain or exceed billable utilization goals
  • MA Degree in a social science or commensurate experience
  • Minimum 4 years research experience
  • Experience working in a consulting, client services, and/or government agency setting is highly desirable
Skills Required
  • Survey research and statistical analysis skills (i.e., cross-tabulations, correlations, regressions, non-hierarchical modeling)
  • Writing and presentation skills, including ability to communicate technical information in an accessible and engaging way
  • Comfortable both working on a collaborative team with shared responsibilities and working independently
  • Comfort with public speaking and participating in client meetings
  • Experience working with historically underserved populations, including people or color, people with disabilities, people who speak languages other than English
  • Familiarity with IRB process, participant confidentiality, and working with sensitive data
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong time management skills and ability to cope with distractions and multiple deadlines
  • Proficient with Stata, SPSS, or statistical software equivalent, MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read, speak and communicate in English
  • Ability to travel up to once per month if needed
Preferred Experience Or Skills
  • Experience with transcreation and inclusive outreach and/or outreach to diverse communities
  • Experience visualizing spatial data using Google Maps, GIS, Tableau, or related tools
Salary Range: $68,000 – $79,000 DOE
