    Core Responsibilities

    Contribute to day-to-day project execution including: study setup, execution, and timelines; study field; data quality; vendor and invoice management; analytics and reporting.

    Help manage and optimize timelines for research projects, collaborating with experts as needed. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail.  Assist in writing clear and inspiring insight stories for clients.

    Develop competency in analytics and reporting, seeking true insights in the data, and helping to add additional context via desk research, social media insights, and deeper respondent profiling.

    Help identify ways in which to improve efficiencies on client accounts and develop automated solutions.

    Develop understanding of our strategy and embrace new products, technologies and methodologies in client work.


    Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in all phases of a project.

    Strong writing/analysis skills – on order to analyze and report findings in a clear, concise, and impactful way.

    Ability to mine insights from multiple data sources, potentially including: social media sentiment, digital exposure, geo-demographic segmentation and profiling, etc.

    Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    Ability to successfully manage multiple project tasks and deliverables at the same time – with efficiency and flexibility.

    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.  

    Motivated self-starter, good team player.

They are a group of entrepreneurial, analytical, and creative leaders with innovation at the core, pushing the state of the art in helping customers shop in richer, faster, and safer ways.

    As a Sr. UX Researcher on their team, you will own the development of research and insights that drive the way the organization understands and designs for customers, helping shape what’s next. This individual needs expertise in qualitative research methods and an understanding of quantitative methods (when to use them, working with teammates on them, etc.) UX Research in this space spans customer-facing digital experiences, corporate applications, and associate tools, as well as physical hardware and software-hardware integration.

    What we are looking for:

    • 5+ years of industry experience in UX research or related disciplines.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver against role responsibilities, working independently.
    • Strong portfolio of past work experience and deliverables: demonstrating impact and including generative and evaluative research, and showing track record of managing and executing research efforts from start to finish.
    • Broad experience with full range of qualitative research methods.
    • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and flexibility.

    • Deep knowledge of current UX research methods and tools and ability to prescribe single or mixed research methods depending on research questions.
    • Extensive experience with UX hardware or human factors research.
    • Expertise in a variety of methods such as qualitative user interviews, ethnographic fieldwork, concept evaluation, diary studies, surveys, usability, etc.
    • Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
    • Ability to articulate the value of user experience research and design to clients and executives.
    • Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders in a consultative role.
    • Experience mentoring, managing, and/or leading other researchers.
    • Proven ability to communicate recommended design solutions for observed UX and product issues.

    • Experience collaborating with team members and stakeholders across different disciplines and areas of expertise (e.g., research, design, business, engineering).

    Position Summary:

    Your key responsibilities will include: 

    Insights and Strategy Delivery 

    • Design analysis plans to meet client’s business objectives, timing and budget 

    • Analysis and synthesis of multiple, complex data sets including primary and secondary research (e.g., qualitative and quantitative consumer data, sales data such as IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, Euromonitor, census and other government data) 

    • Participate in creation and delivery of strong client deliverables that demonstrate thoughtful analysis and data interpretation via strong written and visual storytelling including research insights, strategic frameworks, and compelling narratives to bring to life opportunities

    • Become facile with Hartman consulting models and intellectual capital to apply to projects as appropriate 

    Project Management and Execution 

    • Comfortable working both independently and collaborating within a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team and engaging in cross-discipline project activities, managing multiple ongoing concurrent projects

    • Develop research instruments and planning tools (sample design, questionnaire design, data processing and analysis plans, etc.)

    • Manage timelines, project goals and expectations of key internal/external stakeholders to achieve rapid analytical workflow

    Client Management and Satisfaction 

    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop an understanding of business needs

    Technical/Specialized Skills: 

    • Experience using quantitative analytical techniques such as regression, factor analysis and other advanced data analysis methods a plus 

    • Proficiency in using statistical analysis software, including SPSS (preferred), R and/or Stata

    • Experience with data preparation and management for survey research

    • Proven ability in both speed and accuracy when working with data and analyses

    • Proficiency and savvy in data visualization tools a plus, such as Tableau, ggplot, PowerBI or equivalent a plus 

    • Professional experience with survey research data and weighting procedures strongly desired

    • Professional expertise or personal passion in topic areas of Health & Wellness, Sustainability, Food/Culinary Trends a plus

    Additional Requirements:
