Looking Beyond the Row: Creative Ways to Control Survey Data Quality

As survey data is increasingly collected from diverse sources (e.g., panels, CRM lists, social/ community-based recruitment), data quality challenges are becoming harder to diagnose and easier to oversimplify. AI-generated responses are one of the most visible challenges in our industry today, but they represent only a part of a broader shift in how low-quality data enters research workflows.

Join us to hear from Michael Kemery, who will share early experimental work that explores how different sources of problematic data may leave distinct patterns in survey responses. Anchoring on panel data while extending to DIY and first-party samples, he’ll discuss where traditional QC methods fall short and how alternative analytical perspectives may help teams think more flexibly about data quality.

We look forward to welcoming you to a session designed to sharpen your thinking and strengthen the quality of your insights.

Researcher (MR/CX/UX)

Michael Kemery is a quantitative researcher and research technologist with a proven track record on both the supplier and client sides of the industry. He brings deep expertise in survey design, data integrity, and advanced methodologies, with a particular focus on evaluating data quality standards. Michael’s work explores how artificial intelligence and the integration of diverse data sources are transforming traditional quality control practices, challenging long-standing assumptions, and shaping the future of research.
