InSPIREd: A Whole-Person Approach to Better Work, Better Leadership, Better Insight

What if improving wellbeing wasn’t another workplace initiative, but a practical leadership skill grounded in research?

Gallup’s latest findings are striking: North America is among the world’s most engaged regions, yet also among the most stressed, and the United States has fallen out of the World Happiness Report’s top 20. Managers are depleting fastest — engagement among them has fallen nine points worldwide since 2022. We’ll explore why wellbeing is increasingly seen not as a perk, but as a driver of engagement and performance.

In this interactive session, Mila Ostafiichuk, a doctoral researcher in Happiness Studies at Centenary University, introduces the key discoveries that shaped the science of happiness and whole-person wellbeing, and how they can be applied in organizations. Using Tal Ben-Shahar’s SPIRE model, participants will complete a brief self-assessment, map the personal projects shaping their year using Brian Little’s framework, and build a simple plan for the inner capacities wellbeing rests on.

You’ll leave with practical tools, evidence-based insights, and a fresh perspective on how investing in your own wellbeing strengthens leadership, workplace culture, and the employee experience.
